Demons Second Win on the Trot!

It was a day out for the young Demons players today, as they got over the line for their 2nd win in as many weeks.

Port Power were on the back foot for most of the afternoon until the last quarter where they got within 7 points of the Dees, a scare that had all of us fans worrying that their 3rd season win was going to be snatched away.

The Jurrahcane (Liam Jurrah) was on fire taking two amazing high flying grabs, & kicked a bag of goals, proving he’s the new excitement machine of the Demons.

Ricky Pettard had a dominant performance again, kicking 4 goals and having a hand in many other scoring plays.

The Queens Birthday Clash with the Pies is a huge tradition, and a game all Melbourne fans look forward to each year. We know that on the day, no matter which team is doing better in the football season that year, it is any teams’ game.

However, the 2009 Queen’s Birthday was Collingwood’s from about 15 minutes into the first half.

The first 15 minutes of the game saw a competitive brand of football, with both teams looking fairly even, and just one goal to the Pies. But with 15 minutes down, the Pies ran over the Demons and scored 6 goals to nil, leaving the score at the end of the quarter at Pies 46pts to the Demons’ 4pts. (more…)
