Melbourne Victory - Preseason's best, Season's best, and Grand Final winners!

Yesterday’s A League Grand Final saw Melbourne Victory come away with the win, and proved they are the best team this year. The final score of the game was 1-0, not what I had envisioned, but still the score doesn’t matter as long as Melbourne won.

In the ninth minute, Cristiano of Adelaide United caught Rody Vargas of Melbourne high, getting a red-card for the act. However, Melbourne weren’t able to seal a goal against the 10 men until Nicky Ward was substituted for Evan Berger. With the switch up, Pondeljak had the opportunity to shoot from far range, and got one past Galekovic. (more…)

Looking Forward to Saturday

Victory logoMelbourne Victory take on Adelaide United from the ‘Piss-ant’ town this Saturday for the 6th time this season, however Saturday will be different – Grand Final!

I have my ticket with our whole group and am already excited. Last time these two clubs met in a grand final, the Victory won 6 nil. I’m hoping to go better with a 7 nil victory FOR the Victory! Five of the six goals were scored by Archie Thomson, and one for Danny Allsopp, who is this season’s top goal scorer in the A-League.

So far this season Victory have beat Adelaide each and every time they’ve met, so this week will be no different, with the Victory looking on target to hold Adelaide goalless for the premiership! (more…)
